In continuation to the Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Legal Affairs’ Notification No. A-12023(1)/15/2016-Admn.III(LA) dated the 31st March, 2017, published in the Gazette of India – Extraordinary, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 252 of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) read with Rule 3 of ‘the Tribunal, Appellate Tribunal and other Authorities (Qualifications, Experience and other Conditions of Service of Members) Rules, 2017’ and Rule 49 of the Fundamental Rules, is pleased to extend the tenure of appointment of Shri G. D. Agrawal, Vice-President of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal as President of the Tribunal in officiating capacity w.e.f. forenoon of 18th August, 2017, and till a regular President is appointed.
